ToBe Grammar ("we", "us", or "our") is a Chrome extension that provides real-time grammar and spelling correction. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

• Email address — collected when you register for a free account or purchase a Pro subscription. Used to verify your identity and deliver your license key.
• Device ID — a randomly generated identifier stored locally in your browser. Used to track monthly usage for the free plan. It never contains personal information.
• Text you type — sent to our server only to perform grammar checking. We do not store, log, or retain the content of your text. It is processed and immediately discarded.
• Usage count — we store how many grammar checks you have performed in the current month to enforce the free plan limit.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide grammar and spelling correction via AI
• To manage your account and subscription status
• To send your license key after purchase
• To enforce monthly usage limits on the free plan

3. Third-Party Services

• OpenAI — your text is sent to OpenAI's API to perform grammar analysis. OpenAI's privacy policy applies: openai.com/privacy
• Lemon Squeezy — payment processing for Pro subscriptions. Your payment data is handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy and never touches our servers.
• Resend — used to send transactional emails (verification codes, license keys).
• Railway — our backend infrastructure provider where your email and usage data are stored.

4. Data Retention

• Email addresses and usage counts are retained while your account is active.
• Text submitted for grammar checking is never stored.
• You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

5. Your Rights

6. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

7. Changes to This Policy
